As of about 10:30 this morning (20 October), I’m all hooked up as a designer on Ravelry. It’s scary but cool – three five seven twenty-three people have already favorited the Horsefeathers Cowl! And it won’t even be released until November 1!

The Horsefeather Cowl

The Horsefeather Cowl, laid flat

The vital details: It’s a DK-weight cowl that’s great for beginning lace knitters, and it can be a one-skein project if you choose the right yarn. (Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool is what I used for the original pictured above, and it used forty-seven of the fifty grams in the hank.) It’s knit in the round and uses two easy lace patterns – one for the borders and one for the middle. There are tips for those who aren’t terribly experienced with lace knitting; the tips that deal specifically with the lace patterns used in the cowl are illustrated with photos. It’ll be available for $4.00 USD on November 1 – earlier if I can get all of the editing done that I need to prior to release. If your LYS participates in the Ravelry LYS sales program, it’ll be available through your LYS 🙂

And if your LYS is Twist Yarn Shop in Wichita, KS, you can take the class for which this cowl came into existence! I’ll be teaching the class on Saturdays, Dec. 3/10/17, 1:30 – 3:30 PM. The registration fee is $35, not including materials.
